Graz, Austria, welcomes the world premiere of View From Above, an extraordinary photography exhibition brought to life through the innovative technology of scan.art. From February 1 to March 31, 2025, visitors of the unique exhibition will embark on a journey through space, guided by Terry Virts, a former NASA astronaut. This unique collaboration between Terry Virts and scan.art brings unprecedented insights into life aboard the International Space Station (ISS), featuring stunning visuals and stories that bridge the gap between Earth and space.
A Journey Through Space: The View From Above Experience
The exhibition is divided into five thematic stations, each offering an immersive exploration into the life of an astronaut:
- Introduction: An overview of NASA’s missions and astronaut training.
- NASA Training: The rigorous preparation required to venture into space.
- Launch Preparations & Rocket Liftoff: The breathtaking moments before and during a space mission.
- Earth From Above: Spectacular views of our planet captured from the ISS.
- Life on the ISS & Return to Earth: Insights into daily life in space, including spacewalks and the emotional return to Earth.
Each station is enriched by Terry Virts’ personal stories, which are delivered through the scan.art Audio Guide. Visitors can scan each artwork to hear Virts narrate the awe-inspiring experiences of space exploration in multiple languages, creating a deeply personal and interactive journey.
